As the Demand Planner, reporting to the Sales & Operations Planning Manager, Supply Chain you will be responsible for ensuring Dimplex forecasts demand that directly reflect our customers’ needs.
Position Responsibilities:
• Forecast Analysis
o Assemble and analyze all data pertinent to creating of a 13 month rolling sales forecast including historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions, customer point of sale information, new and discontinued products
o Work with Sales to obtain a monthly consensus sales forecast
o Lead forecast planning meetings with Sales Managers / VP’s to review sales forecasts
o Develop analyses and reports to help the business understand its demand trends
o Measure, report on and improve forecast accuracy
o Identify and implement continuous improvement of forecasting process
• Data Integrity
o Cross-referencing old phase out products to replacement products
o Ensure Apex/ERP system is maintained and information is current and accurate
• Communication
o Analyze and report out on key trending data and report metrics (statistical forecast measures, bias, raw accuracy etc. at multiple lag periods)
o Continuous communication with Sales, Marketing and Product Development to accurately forecast both new and discontinued product and timing
Position Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in materials/operations management, Supply Chain, and/or APICS/CPIM designation
• 3 to 5 years Demand Planning experience
• Proficient with MSOffice Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Advanced MSOffice excel skills are required
• Effective interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to solve problems
• Ability to work well with others while challenging forecast assumptions of others
• Strong analytical skills
• Proficiency with statistical and forecasting fundamentals
• Proactive, organized and detail oriented
