Hi Steven,

We are very sorry that we are not able to send anyone this Saturday to conduct the drive in Waterloo. We have not been able to make the arrangements with OneMatch this time. I am helping Connie to explain the online registration process which is very simple. You can advise your contacts to register with OneMatch as soon as possible. Each new registrant with OneMatch is one more hope for matching for the patient.

Please advise all your contacts between 17 - 50 years of age to log onto www.onematch.ca There will be a medical questionnaire that needs to be fill out first. The sooner this takes place the sooner OneMatch can start screening the registrant. The registrant has an option to do the questionnaire is in English or Chinese. Once the questionnaire is submitted a OneMatch staff will contact the registrant within two week's time to verify some information. Once OneMatch is satisfied that the registrant is eligible to register an oral swab kit will be mailed to the registrant's home address. The registrant will need to do the oral swabbing to collect cheek cells and mail the kit back to OneMatch.

If the registrant does not receive a welcome letter from OneMatch within 8 weeks time, he/she should contact OneMatch at their toll fee number 1 - 888 2 DONATE (1-888-236-6283) to inquire about the status of the registration. For translation services in Cantonese and Mandarin, please call 1-888-537-7700 ext. 5821.

Though there won't be an actual drive this weekend, you can still do a virtual drive. You and your friends can still recruit all your contacts and have everyone go online to do the registration. You may actually get more registrants that way since no one has to travel to a designated place at a designated time to do the registration.
